Over a decade of history starting with interview 2B my HC 🌴 I knew you were a star, brought you and Ari to Cali and then you thought of me when their was an opening for COO at KSU. You were instrumental recruiting me back home to called me like “T we need you.” I still hear you 💔”

So many memories that at moments make me tear up but also make me smile.

The Bus rides, even that time when I visited you at USF practice & you told me jump on to go see Ari & The Kids!

Pregame Team meals during road trip scout

Me introducing you to alumni & you to every1 you knew

1-on-1 Basketball Talk .. you’d ask what I saw 👀

The Tough Program Administrator convos

You pulling me in team huddles on my arena walk thru

The random flowers and gear

Letting me listen in on locker room speeches at the half

The 1st KSU D1 Championship ring

You saying “’m coming to you as a mentor” when USF was on the table

Unconditional love & respect always shown!

Ari, we love you and here for you. We in the valley right now but God & a host of us are with you! Kiddos, auntie got to get some time, I’m a grandma now so playdates on me.

Gone too soon Coach, you beat us there 🕊️ well done, I’ll miss you but you did your job here, go get your crown King. Much Love and heartfelt condolences to family, friends, players and all who love him. B.O.N.E.

Last basketball season i had the pleasure of capturing Amir’s season through my phone. i worked alongside his staff as a content intern for USF. i got to record and save the best moments of last season and highlight the joy Amir brought to my school. i have never felt so included as Amir made me feel while i was working. my favorite moments were his post game press conferences where he’d start with “to God be the glory” this made me emotional everytime because at the time last year i was on my own spiritual journey and our basketball coach giving God the praise brought me comfort that i was on the right path. Amir had this special energy that i saw flourish in our players. those boys mean the world to me because amir made sure to make known how special they are. coach Amir will ALWAYS. hold a special place in my heart. he helped to fulfill my purpose in college that i couldn’t seem to find at first. he brought joy to my life and has thus given me a reason to keep going forward. i will honor him this basketball season and make sure that everyone knows… love wins. thank you for sharing your husband, son and brother i am forever grateful that i got to meet Amir.

I still have his voicemail when he became head coach and thanking me for supporting the team. I was touched to receive a call from him and felt his passion for the game. My deepest condolences to his family!

My Brother decades of love. We hadn’t spoke in years. And out the Blue a call to check on me following a loss of my sister-n-law. You were an outstanding brother. I remember the days in high school the moments once graduated. Most I remember where we were ,where we landed and where we will meet again. We bonded over the love of family. In this moment thank you for the memories dude. “Love wins”

Our son, Benjamin was a manager on the UGA basketball team while Amir was an assistant there.  Over the last several years, they did so much more than just stay in touch.  Amir extended friendship, guidance, support, advice and love to our son.  Through their relationship, our family was blessed to have the chance to meet Amir at both KSU and at USF.  He was a truly great man who none of us will ever forget.

Coach Amir,

I am forever grateful. Thank you for coming to Tampa & being the leader/example/mentor/support that so many of us, never knew we needed. I got to experience USF in a whole new light, with you being our basketball coach. I was always commenting on how nicely dressed you were at every game, and how the opposing team's coach could never compare. You truly led by example. Your light shined and still shines, through everyone that has come across you. We are all better people, because of you. As an USF alum & fan, thank you. 💚🤘💛

We understand the profound impact Coach Amir had on the lives of many. To honor his legacy, we invite you to share your heartfelt messages, memories, and condolences. We will cherish your tributes.
